What are the Methods of Extinguishing Fire | Methods of Extinction and prevention

Method of Extension and Prevention:

Method of Extinguisher
Fire depends upon a reaction between two substance and continuous because of self generated heat. There are four ways of Extinguishing fire i.e., by cooling the fuel below its ignition temperature. By cutting off the oxygen, by cutting off the supply of fuel or by prohibiting the formation of chain carriers.
This is achieved by -

  • Taking away the heat faster heat it is generated.
  • Separating the substance apart.
  • Cooling the combustible material and its surrounding to a temperature search that fire die for want to heat.
  • Smoothing the fire by preventing air from reaching eat or by diluting air with some inert gas ( smothering ).
  • Starving the fire by removing combustible material fuel supply.

What are the Methods of Fire Extinguishing:

  • COOLING METHOD:

Extinction by cooling is achieve, when the rate of heat generated is less than the rate the heat remove, hence the fire die water is an excellent cooling agent and is Alos available in penalty all around sea. It first observed the heat from the surrounding/ fire, than it required rise to boiling point and on further absorption of heat corporate ( using latent heat of vaporization ).
It has a few limitation/disadvantages too such as excess of water application has stability hazards, liquid fuels float on water. Hence a major oil fire is unlikely to be put off by water seawater may cause severe damage of the electrical machinery. The water thus can be used after properly protecting the machineries in either of the following modes :-

(A) As a Jet:

It can be used for structural fire and fire involving solid. It can be Jet lined on the fire from a considerable distance. In addition to cooling and smoothing effects, it produce a floating effect which will separate a small flame from its fuel.

(B) As a Spray:

If the water is broken up to into very fine particles it covers a large surface area and heat transfer is very fast. It also protects the fire fighters from any radiated heat.

  • SMOOTHENING METHOD:

It is the process of cutting of the air/oxygen supply to the existing fire. Attempt to smother a fire would be ineffective, if all the air required for complete combustion is intimately mixed with the fuel as in case of an explosive and Alos, if combustible materials are containing oxygen in it, ( e.g. tentiale, wood ). Liquid fuels normally do not contain oxygen
Foam is used to blanket the surface of the fuel and separate it from air. It can be produced mechanically from water, air and foam a compound or may be chemically produce.
Your oxygen can also be cut off by using gas or vapour which is inactive such as inert CO or dry chemical powder ( NaH CO3 ).

Basic Smoothering Agents:
Some of the Smoothering Agents are as follow below:

  1. Foam
  2. CO2
  3. Steam dreanching
  4. Vaporizing liquid ( Halon )
  5. Liquid chemical
  6. Sand
  7. Blanket

  • STARVING METHOD:

This can be achieved :

  •  removing combustible material from the neighbourhood of fire drainage of fuel from Burning oil tanks.
  • removing the fire from the neighbourhood of combustible Material by pulling apart burning version of fear.
  • Sub-dividing the burning material and then exiting using small fires.

(NRV) Non-Return Valves | Check Valves - Symbol, Types and Importance

(NRV) Non Return Valve A Non- Return Valves , check valve , clack valve, non- return valves , reflux valve, retention valve or one-way valve is a  valve that normally allows  fluid  ( liquid or gas ) to flow through it in one direction only.    Non  - Return valve/ Check valve are two-port valves, meaning that they have two openings in the body, one to enter the  fluid and the other to release the liquid. Types of (NRV) Non - Return Valves There are various types of check valves/non-return valve used in a wide variety of applications.  Non- return valves are often part of common household items.   Although they are available in a wide range of sizes and costs, Non - Return valve are generally very small, simple or inexpensive. Non - Return valve operate automatically and most are not controlled by an individual or any external control;  Accordingly, most have no valve handle or stem. The bodies (outer shells) of most  Non - Return valve/check valves are made of

(DCP) Dry Chemical Powder Fire Extinguisher | MSDS for ABC

(DCP) Dry Chemical Powder - Fire Extinguisher     A dry chemical extinguishing agent used on Class A ,  Class B and Class C fires are known as Monoammonium-phosphate , ABE powder, ABC Dry Chemical, Tri-class or Multi - purpose Dry Chemicals.     It uses a special liquid and silicone monoammonium phosphate powder.  The ABC dry chemical is usually a mixture of monoammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate , which is previously activated.  The mixture between the two agents is 40-60%, 60-40%, or 90-10%, depending on local worldwide standards.  The USGS uses a similar blend, called FOS Check G75F. How does a Dry Chemical Powder fire Extinguisher work    General Uses -     Dry chemical powder used on all classes of fire.  Prevents chain reaction by smuggling.  The pressure is generated by the gas cartridge stored inside the cylinder.  Its force will remain for 2 minutes and can reach 10 - 15 feet.   Common combustible solids    It melts  Class A fire at around 350 - 400 degre

(RFRL) Rainforced Rubber Line - EngineeriSafety

(RFRL)  Rainforced Rubber Line    RFRL Rainforced Rubber Line -   Reinforced rubber  products are the largest group of composite materials , though they are rarely referred to as composite materials.  Examples familiar are automobile tyres , hoses and conveyor belts . Composite Rainforced Structure   Reinforced rubber  products combine a  rubber matrix and a reinforced material, so that the strength of elasticity to high strength is achieved.  Reinforcing material, usually a type of fibre , provides strength and stiffness.  The rubber matrix, with reduced strength and stiffness, provides air-liquid tightness and supports refreshing materials to maintain their respective positions.  These positions are important because they in turn affect the mechanical properties.      A composite structure where all fibers are everywhere loaded at the same pressure is called an isotropic structure, and the type of loading is called isotensoidal loading.  Structure geometry must have an i
