What is Fire Extinguisher | Classification of Fires | Types of Fire

INTRODUCTION OF EXTINGUISHER :

Chemical Extinguisher are essentially a class of handy portable fire fighting applicances, with a  Limited capacities of fire extinguishing media. They are also called portable Fire extinguisher or first aid, fire fighting applicances for use only on certain type of fire in the incipient stage.

Portable is applied to manually operated Fire extinguisher use specially on small fire or in the interim between discovery of fire and function ine of automatic equipment or arrival of professional firefighters.

They are generally small and light in weight and can be carried easily from place to place. Large models of certain types known as trolly units and chemical engines are mounted on Simple two wheel chassis,  fitted with a length of hose to extend the available range. The extinguishing agent might be chemicals in the form of very fine solid particles,  liquid or gas, contain are the cylinders.

Fire can be divided into two groups wanted and unwanted the fire group includes fire which provide various volatility of man such as fire for cooking and warm for power and locomotion for a travel to moon and back to earth, etc. The second group of fires are the one which were traded to lay man, the uncontrol fire which Burn It Down his dwellings, his workplace is forest wealth is hardearned precious good & cause death, and misery to his near and dear ones. It is this group of fire for which the methods have been developed for their suppression and prevention.

The fire fighter of today living in a world which is fast advancing in Science and technology is for remove from his counter part of by gone years.  He confront han increasing variety of fires, involving both natural and manmade materials in ever growing Complex combinations. His job involves much more than just throwing water on each and every fire. It has become necessary for him to know the nature and type of combustible materials and their behaviour in a fire in order to select the correct extinguishing medium and to achieve extinguishment at the minimum time without any risk to his own person.

He has therefore, to acquire an adequate knowledge in many diversified field and the range specialisation has expanded from use of plane water to the use of most modern vaporizing liquids.

CLASSIFICATION OF FIRE :

The fire scientist have classified all fires into various categories on the basis to the natural of combustible materials, and two situations in which they might be found. As per I.S.S. 2190-1979 the classification of virus is given as under :-

1. Class 'A' Fire :-  Fire in ordinary combustible materials such as wood, paper, Textiles etc. Where the cooling effects of water is essential for the extinction of Fire.

2. Class 'B' Fire :-  Fire in inflamable liquids such as acids, organic solvent, petroleum products, vanishes, Paints, etc. Where a blanketing effect is essential for the extinction of fire.

3. Class 'C' Fire :-   Fire involving gaseous substance - such as methane, propane, butane, acetylene, cooking gas including natural gas ( under pressure ), where it is necessary to dilute the burning gas at a very fast rate with an insert gas or dry chemical powder.

4. Class 'D' Fire :-  Fire involving burning the powders of combustible metals such as magnesium aluminium zinc for alkali e metals like Sodium and potassium where the burning metal is reactive to water and which require special extinguishing agents and techniques.

(NRV) Non-Return Valves | Check Valves - Symbol, Types and Importance

(NRV) Non Return Valve A Non- Return Valves , check valve , clack valve, non- return valves , reflux valve, retention valve or one-way valve is a  valve that normally allows  fluid  ( liquid or gas ) to flow through it in one direction only.    Non  - Return valve/ Check valve are two-port valves, meaning that they have two openings in the body, one to enter the  fluid and the other to release the liquid. Types of (NRV) Non - Return Valves There are various types of check valves/non-return valve used in a wide variety of applications.  Non- return valves are often part of common household items.   Although they are available in a wide range of sizes and costs, Non - Return valve are generally very small, simple or inexpensive. Non - Return valve operate automatically and most are not controlled by an individual or any external control;  Accordingly, most have no valve handle or stem. The bodies (outer shells) of most  Non - Return valve/check valves are made of

(DCP) Dry Chemical Powder Fire Extinguisher | MSDS for ABC

(DCP) Dry Chemical Powder - Fire Extinguisher     A dry chemical extinguishing agent used on Class A ,  Class B and Class C fires are known as Monoammonium-phosphate , ABE powder, ABC Dry Chemical, Tri-class or Multi - purpose Dry Chemicals.     It uses a special liquid and silicone monoammonium phosphate powder.  The ABC dry chemical is usually a mixture of monoammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate , which is previously activated.  The mixture between the two agents is 40-60%, 60-40%, or 90-10%, depending on local worldwide standards.  The USGS uses a similar blend, called FOS Check G75F. How does a Dry Chemical Powder fire Extinguisher work    General Uses -     Dry chemical powder used on all classes of fire.  Prevents chain reaction by smuggling.  The pressure is generated by the gas cartridge stored inside the cylinder.  Its force will remain for 2 minutes and can reach 10 - 15 feet.   Common combustible solids    It melts  Class A fire at around 350 - 400 degre

(RFRL) Rainforced Rubber Line - EngineeriSafety

(RFRL)  Rainforced Rubber Line    RFRL Rainforced Rubber Line -   Reinforced rubber  products are the largest group of composite materials , though they are rarely referred to as composite materials.  Examples familiar are automobile tyres , hoses and conveyor belts . Composite Rainforced Structure   Reinforced rubber  products combine a  rubber matrix and a reinforced material, so that the strength of elasticity to high strength is achieved.  Reinforcing material, usually a type of fibre , provides strength and stiffness.  The rubber matrix, with reduced strength and stiffness, provides air-liquid tightness and supports refreshing materials to maintain their respective positions.  These positions are important because they in turn affect the mechanical properties.      A composite structure where all fibers are everywhere loaded at the same pressure is called an isotropic structure, and the type of loading is called isotensoidal loading.  Structure geometry must have an i
